Pengaruh Pemberian Jus Bit (Beta Vulgaris L) Selama Latihan Terhadap Kadar Malondialdehide Dan Status Antioksidan Atlet

Show more

“… 14 Another research also investigates that BRJ supplementation daily can reduce malondialdehyde (MDA) levels and increase total antioxidant capacity (TAC) levels of athletes. 15 These decreasing MDA levels and increasing TAC levels are definitely related with athlete’s performance and physical endurance.…”

“…Red beetroot is one of vegetables that is rich of carotenoids, polyphenols, flavonoids, betaine, and betalains. [15] Study reported that red beetroot has potential antioxidant effects for treatment therapy related to oxidative stress [28], also Sinaga et al [29] showed that red beetroot juice administration in athletes reduces malondialdehyde (MDA) levels during training. Previous study suggested that betanin, an antioxidant extract from red beetroot, has a hepatoprotective effect in rats induced with high fat diet.…”

“…The minimum sample size required in this study was calculated using the G power software. 22 A total of 12 volunteers was randomly given capsule contained EESP or placebo (Pl) (amylum) once daily along with metformin 500 mg twice daily. Complete blood tests, liver (SGOT and SGPT) and kidney (Ur and Cr) function were carried out at the beginning and after 14 days of taking the capsules.…”
