Abstract:In this paper, we consider the massive nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) with hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) for short packet communications. To reduce the latency, each user can perform one re-transmission provided that the previous packet was not decoded successfully. The system performance is evaluated for both coordinated and uncoordinated transmissions. We first develop a Markov model (MM) to analyze the system dynamics and characterize the packet error rate (PER) and throughput of each user in… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
