Performance Analysis of a Decode-and-Forward Relay System in and Fading Channels

Abstract: In this paper, performance of a cooperative decodeand-forward system is analyzed in κ-µ, η-µ, and mixed κ-µ and η-µ fading environment. Exact expressions for the average symbol error rate are derived for M -ary phase-shift keying modulated data using moment generating function based approach. Further, asymptotic expressions at high signal-to-noise ratio are analyzed to obtain optimal power allocation at the source and the relay node.
