Performance Characterization of Semi-Flexible Composite Mixture

Abstract: Semi-flexible composite mixture (SFCM) is developed based on a unique material design concept of pouring cement mortar into the voids formed by open graded asphalt mixture. It combines the flexibility of asphalt concrete and the stiffness of Portland cement concrete and has many advantages comparing to conventional roadway paving materials. The main objective of this paper was to evaluate the engineering properties of SFCM and assess the constructability of the SFCM. A slab SFCM sample was fabricated in the la… Show more

“…Evaluation methods for the low-temperature performance of GSP include the small beam bending (SBB) test, splitting test, and semi-circular bending (SCB) test. Additionally, the creep test and indirect tensile strength (ITS) test are also employed at −10 • C to inspect the anti-cracking resistance of GSP [6,108].…”

“…Research on emulsified asphalt cement mortar mixtures mainly focuses on the mixing ratio [7,8], performance [5,[9][10][11][12][13][14], mixing time [15], strength formation mechanism [7,16,17], and so on. For pavement materials, understanding their performance is the priority.…”
