Abstract:Reduction of the energy penalty and cost of CO2 capture from concentrated gas streams using amine-based solutions can be achieved by minimizing the energy penalty in the solvent regeneration process. High concentration 2-Amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) solution precipitates as a carbonate when enough CO2 has been absorbed. By sending the separated carbonate to the stripper, the sensible heat of regeneration can be reduced. However, previous testing using 50 weight percent AMP solution mixed with Piperazine (PZ… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
