Abstract:Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO) is a promising biofuel with a low energy input to energy output ratio. Successful use of SVO in engines depends on engine performance, wear and emissions. This study focuses on short-term engine emissions and performance. The primary objective is to compare engine efficiency and emissions from SVO, biodiesel, and petroleum diesel using vegetable oil from four locally produced oilseed species. This research uses oils produced in Colorado as a full diesel fuel substitute in a modifie… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
