Perimortem Cesarean Section in a Patient with Intrapartum Cardiorespiratory Arrest Due to a Massive Amniotic Fluid Embolism

Abstract: We report and discuss the case of a 29-year-old tercigravida with intrapartum cardiorespiratory arrest due to a massive amniotic fluid embolism and disseminated intravascular coagulopathy. Perimortem caesarean section with B-Lynch compression uterine suture with simultaneous fetal and maternal resuscitation were performed with a favorable outcome for both the mother and the child.
