Permanent Genetic Resources added to Molecular Ecology Resources Database 1 August 2011–30 September 2011

Abstract: This article documents the addition of 299 microsatellite marker loci and nine pairs of single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) EPIC primers to the Molecular Ecology Resources (MER) Database. Loci were developed for the following species: Alosa pseudoharengus, Alosa aestivalis, Aphis spiraecola, Argopecten purpuratus, Coreoleuciscus splendidus, Garra gotyla, Hippodamia convergens, Linnaea borealis, Menippe mercenaria, Menippe adina, Parus major, Pinus densiflora, Portunus trituberculatus, Procontarinia mangiferae… Show more

“…(2000) ( Sma5‐111INRA and SmA1‐152INRA ), two EST‐derived markers described in Bouza et al. (2008) ( SmaUSC‐E32 and SmaUSC‐E41 ) and 10 novel markers developed through gDNA pyrosequencing (GS FLX Titanium, Roche; ScoR26 , ScoR28 , ScoR12 , ScoR27 , ScoR16 , ScoR5 , ScoR2 , ScoR11 , ScoR4 and ScoR6 ) (Molecular Ecology Resources Primer Development et al., 2012). Microsatellite markers were combined in three multiplex reactions, each consisting of an initial denaturation step of 7 min at 95°C, followed by 30 cycles of 30 s at 95°C, 90 s at 54°C (multiplex 2 and 3) or 56°C (multiplex 1) and 60 s at 72°C after a final elongation of 30 s at 60°C, and cooled down to 10°C.…”

“…We examined the variation at 21 polymorphic microsatellites: 15 loci developed for alewife ( Ap010, Ap033, Ap037, Ap038, Ap047, Ap058, Ap070, Ap071 ) and blueback herring ( Aa046, Aa070, Aa074, Aa081, Aa082, Aa091, Aa093 ) (A'Hara et al . ) that were common across studies and six additional loci developed for alewife ( Aps1, Aps2A ; Bentzen & Paterson ), blueback herring ( Aa039; A'Hara et al . ) and American shad ( A. sapidissima ) [ AsaD042, AsaC249 (Julian & Bartron ), Asa8 (Waters et al .…”
