Dyke and Stewart (1931) actually emphasized the absence of bleeding in five cases of pernicious anaemia with thrombocytopenia, and a similar observation was made by Schwartz (1944). On the other hand, alarming bleeding occurring as epistaxis and attributed to thrombocytopenia in pernicious anaemia was reported by Torrey (1933) and by Bisgeier (1954).…”
