Peroral Cholangioscopy Using a New Thinner Videoscope (Chf‐b260)

Abstract: The CHF-B260 videoscope has a 3.4 mm outer diameter, 1.2 mm forceps channel, and two-way angulations function (70∞ up and 70∞ down). Peroral cholangioscopy (POCS) was performed using the CHF-B260 in 13 patients who were admitted to our hospital between October 2002 and June 2004. The CHF-B260 was successfully inserted into the bile duct in all cases. Clear images were obtained in 11 patients. Endoscopic images for two cases of malignant stricture due to metastasis of colon cancer and gallbladder cancer were no… Show more

“…However, it was difficult to insert the scope into the bile duct because of the relatively large scope diameter (4.5 mm). The CHF‐B260 (Olympus Medical Systems, Tokyo, Japan), however, has a smaller diameter (3.5 mm) for more versatile clinical application 4 . As a result, we are now able to easily obtain clear images of the bile duct.…”

“…A video cholangioendoscope (CHF‐B260, depth of field 3–20 mm, Olympus Medical Systems, Tokyo, Japan) with an outer diameter of 3.4 mm and an accessory channel diameter of 1.2 mm 12 (Table 1), is advanced through the 4.2 mm accessory channel of a conventional therapeutic duodenoscope (TJF 200 series, Olympus) into the bile duct, what is known as a mother–baby endoscopic system (Fig. 1).…”
