Fasciola gigantica and Paramphistomum spp. are trematode helminth causing severe economic losses in cattle farming in Aceh Province, Indonesia. This study was conducted to examine the correlation between the prevalence of F. gigantica and Paramphistomum spp infections with the body condition and sex of Aceh cattle. In total, 103 cattle (50 males and 53 females) from an abattoir in Banda Aceh were used. The body condition score was recorded and the number of fluke eggs in feces was examined coproscopically. The results showed that F. gigantica prevalence was 41% and 72% in females and males, respectively, whereas, the prevalence of Paramphistomum spp in females and males was 81% and 72%, respectively. The average number of fasciola eggs was 2.55 eggs/ g feces and 2.75 eggs/ g feces in females and males, respectively, The average number of Paramphistomum spp eggs was 127.6 eggs/g feces and 36.8 eggs/ g feces in males, and female respectively. Based on the Body Condition Score (BCS), the prevalence of both trematodes was higher in the skinny cattle (BSC 2 and 3). This study established that the infection of Fasciola in BCS 3 was higher than BCS 2 and 4. Male cattle were more susceptible to infection than females.

The paper presents the studies on morphological changes in cattle with a different number of fascioles in liver (up to 70 fascioles and up to 250 specimen). A total of 127 heads of 2-4-year-old cattle from the farms of the Republic of Bashkortostan were examined. The diagnosis of fasciolosis was based on epizootological data, clinical indicators, and detection of fasciola eggs in faeces by successive washes of faeces. After slaughter 3 groups of 5 animals were selected based on pathoanatomic, helminthological diagnosis and fasciola invasion intensity. The first group included parasite-free animals, the second group -cattle with an infestation rate of 70 worms/head, the third group -animals with infestation rate of 250 parasites/head. Histological studies were conducted on liver samples in 10% neutral formalin with embedding them in paraffin blocks. After dewaxing 5-7 micrometres thick sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin and coloured according to Van Gieson's method for connective tissue examination. Morphometric indicators were studied with an ocular ruler. The data was processed on the Pentium OS with Microsoft Word and Excel software and the Student's t-test results validation. The infected bull calves have an enlarged liver size, dense liver texture and tuberous surface, the thickened capsule, thick, sinuous, expanded yellow-white bile ducts cords. Histological and morphometric methods identified structural changes in hepatocytes, hepatic lobules and the microcirculatory system of the liver. Pathological changes in the liver depend significantly on the average number of parasites found on a single infested animal. The work provides a fasciolosis prevention and treatment recommendation, taking into account the manifested pathological liver processes.

Slaughtering of sacrificial animals is a worship activity for slaughtering ruminant livestock which is carried out on Eid al-Adha and carried out in mosques or outside Slaughterhouses (RPH). The limited facilities affect the welfare of the animals so that it affects the quality of the meat. Supervision in the production chain with antemortem and postmortem inspections is carried out to obtain good quality meat. This community service aims to help the community get a guarantee of safe, healthy, whole and halal, sacrificial animal meat with antemortem and postmortem examinations, as well as holding counseling on the handling of sacrificial animals and meat during the covid-19 pandemic through webinars. The activity was carried out in 13 mosques in the areas of Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Gresik, and Pasuruan. The antemortem examination will be held on 19-22 July 2021 followed by a post-mortem examination which will be held on 20-22 July 2021 with a total number of 112 cows, 220 goats and 1 sheep. The Webinar was held earlier, namely on July 14, 2021, by 3 competent speakers. The webinar was attended by the general public, mosque takmir, lecturers, and students. The results of the antemortem examination indicated that the animals were suitable for slaughter, although 2â€“6 (0.6â€“1.8%) animals showed diarrhea, nasal and eye discharge, and infection of the prepuce. The results of postmortem examination stated that the animals were fit for consumption with a note that the organs infected with worms had to be removed, namely 15.2% of the liver of cattle and 0.9% of the liver of goats with fasciolosis, 0.5% of goats experiencing parampistomiasis and 1.7% of cattle experiencing eurytrematosis.
