Abstract:A rare condition called nanophthalmos causes variable degrees of vision impairment. One may present with nanophthalmos as a hereditary or sporadic condition. There have been documented cases of nanophthalmos treated with bilateral cataract extraction and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation for intractable secondary glaucoma or chronic angle‐closure glaucoma.
