Abstract:X-ray phase and dark field imaging offer two additional channels of information as well as providing information on material micro-texture that is unavailable to conventional x-ray imaging. We employ a single, low-cost, easily-aligned, coarse-pitched mesh to produce a pattern that is imaged directly. A number of reconstruction techniques were compared to produce phase and dark field computed tomography (CT) images of phantoms and human breast tissue.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
