Phase coupling of optical phase-shifting array resonator slab waveguide CO2 lasers

Abstract

I_n order to improve the output beam quality of slab waveguide CO2lasers, we presented an optical phase-shifting array resonator with a phase-shifting array end mirror used in RF-excited diffi.isively cooled slab waveguide CO2 lasers. A series ofphase-shifting array end mirrors with different parameters are empioyed in our experiments and highly spatially suppressed single-peak intensity distributions in the far field, which have advantages of high brighthess and good characteristics ofpropagation, have been obtained respectively. Theoretically we analyzed the characteristics ofthe output modes and well explained the phase coupling ofthis kind of slab waveguide CO2 lasers.
