Abstract:A three‐dimensional non‐isothermal phase field model of polycrystalline NiTi shape memory alloy (SMA) was established based on the Ginzburg–Landau's theory, which considered the interaction between crack growth and martensite transformation (MT). Then, the crack propagation of polycrystalline NiTi SMA and its dependence on the system's grain size and loading rate were studied by the phase field simulations. The results show that the proposed phase field model can characterize the MT behavior, temperature field… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
