Phase-only mask for superoscillatory enhanced resolution in confocal microscopy
Ignacio Iglesias,

Abstract:In this work, we present a simple phase mask that generates a superoscillatory spot suitable for confocal scanning microscopy enabling lateral sub-diffraction resolution. When considering linearly polarized light, the mask enhances the resolving power along the axis perpendicular to the polarization direction. The symmetry of the enhancement is recovered if the mask is combined with radial polarization.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
