Phase-sensitive amplification in dispersion oscillating fibers

Abstract: The modulation of the dispersion along the fiber length is responsible for the emergence of multiple resonant sidebands, which arise due to modulation instability. We propose to use modulation instability (MI) sidebands for phase-sensitive amplification (PSA). An accurate analytical treatment of the PSA process in dispersion oscillating fibers is provided.
