PHENOLICS COMPOSITION, ANTIOXIDANT AND CORROSION INHIBITION EFFICIENCY, CAPACITY OF F raxinus Excelsior EXTRACTS

Abstract: Objective: In this study, we will determine the antioxidant properties of Fraxinus excelsior extracts and will correlate the values with total levels of polyphenolic compounds. And the ethyl acetate extract (EAE) was investigated as eco-friendly corrosion inhibitor of carbon steel in 1M HCl has been studied by both electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and Tafel polarization measurements. Methods: Antioxidant activity was evaluated by DPPH, ABTS + , FRAP and enzymatic test. Total polyphenols and total f… Show more

“…The bark has also been used as an antimicrobial, antiparasitic, and insect repellent. 9,17 The extract from F. excelsior leaves from showed various biological activities such as antioxidant [18][19][20] and anti-inflammatory, 21,22 while the extract from the seeds had diuretic and antihypertensive effects. 23 The aim of this work was to determine the content of total phenols, flavonoids, and phenolic acids, identification and quantification of selected phenolic acids, as well as the antioxidant activity of the F. ornus and F. excelsior extracts.…”
