“…However, due to the poor light absorption properties of thin BP, the performance of multilayer BP photodetectors is limited by their low photoresponsivity, and two methods have been tried to solve the low performance; (i) the lateral p–n junction structures which effectively separate electron–hole pairs after photoexcitation, and (ii) the BP heterostructures in which photogenerated charges can be transferred to the BP layers. The BP‐based hybrids and lateral diode structures, such as BP– molybdenum disulfide (MoS 2 ) heterojunctions, BP–Si heterojunctions, and BP homojunctions, have been demonstrated to yield enhanced photoresponses. Compared to BP photodetectors, these junction structures exhibit much higher responsivity (22.3 A W −1 for a vertical junction and 120 A W −1 for a lateral junction have been reported) .…”
