Abstract:Ischemic and metabolic damages to cardiomyocytes induce immediate ultrastructural changes in their myofibrils. Photochemical fluorochromize staining of prenecrotic cardiomyocytes allows to determine with high sensitivity local redistribution of sarcomere mass.
