Photoinduced Optical Absorption in Bulk and Thin Film of Yttrium Iron Garnet

Abstract: Photoinduced irreversible change in an optical absorption a is observed for a bulk single crystal and a thin film of yttrium-iron garnets (YlG) over the spectral range 60001'700-2000 run and over the temperature range 80-200 K. In some specimens, coexistence of ph to induced and dark Lla-effectis found atlow temperatures. Experimental data are discussed within a simple phenomellological model .
