Physical Layer Security in Vehicular Communication Networks in the Presence of Interference

Abstract: This paper studies the physical layer security of a vehicular communication network in the presence of interference constraints by analysing its secrecy capacity. The system considers a legitimate receiver node and an eavesdropper node, within a shared network, both under the effect of interference from other users. The double-Rayleigh fading channel is used to capture the effects of the wireless communication channel for the vehicular network. We present the standard logarithmic expression for the system capa… Show more

“…Alternating optimization (AO) and successive convex In vehicular ad hoc networks (VANET), PLS is a major concern, due to the broadcast nature of the wireless channels. Many papers, [26]- [28], have considered the analysis of PLS under such high mobility conditions and dynamic environments. In fact, RIS is proven to help compensating the multipath and Doppler effects in wireless propagation channels [6].…”

“…However, the aforementioned works were for static users, therefore, to tackle the security and privacy issue in vehicular networks, the work in [11] double Rayleigh fading has been considered and the authors have provided the expression to model the fading with mobility. On the other hand, by considering the interfere scenario, the work in [12], has highlighted the performance of secrecy capacity and the closed form expressions have been derived using moment generating function. However the work in [13]- [15] shows that for cognitive vehicular networks, where the network topology is highly dynamic, PLS is a promising approach because of its no requirement of exchange of keys.…”

“…The true flooding method is used to recognize intruder nodes depending on the evaluation of trust value. Makarfi et al [22] presented the ordinary logarithmic expression for the system capability in a different form, to allow the study of the random variables describing the channel fading and interference in terms of the joint moment generating functions (MGF). In [23], an interference management method for PLS in a two-tier HetNet system to increase the user's secrecy rate under eavesdropping attack is proposed.…”
