“…This antibacterial activity is beneficial for the treatment of dental caries [89]. In a similar study, the antibacterial effect of aqueous and alcoholic lime extracts on the main bacterial species causing caries was studied, noting that Citrus aurantifolia has antibacterial effects on C. pneumonia, S. aureus and P. mirabilis species [88]. These results are supported by similar studies [90] in which similar antibacterial effects of lime extract were observed, and, in addition, Pathan et al [91], demonstrated that C. aurantifolia has antimicrobial effects on E. coli species.…”
