Abstract:The aim of the present study is to evaluate the thrombolytic activity of aqueous and ethanol extracts of Clerodendrum phlomidis roots. The activity was assessed by thrombolytic assay (clot lysis) using streptokinase as standard. The preliminary phytochemical screening revealed the presence of carbohydrates, glycosides, phenolic compounds like tannins and flavonoids.
