Objective: To describe the process of construction and assessment of the content of a Virtual Learning Object on preventing bloodstream infections associated with infusion therapy. Method: Methodological study carried out in three stages: elaborating the technical, scientific content; assessing theoretical content; and constructing the Virtual Learning Object. Results: We produced the theoretical content of the Virtual Learning Object. Such content obtained an 85% agreement in assessment, which was adequate. The final product comprised 39 content screens, which integrate the main recommendations and contain images, hypertexts, videos, case studies, and quiz, through an exclusive platform. Final Considerations: This study made it possible to portray the method for constructing and assessing the content of a Virtual Learning Object, enabling am easy application to health professionals, aiming at guiding them to quality care.

Objectives Comprehensive nursing assessment, as the first step in the nursing process, involves the systematic and constant data gathering to facilitate the development of the patient-specific nursing process. The aim of this study is to determine the effects of applying an assessment form based on the health functional patterns on nursing student's attitude and skills in developing nursing process. Methods A randomized controlling design was conducted. Of 84 undergraduate nursing students, 42 students were allocated to the intervention or control group. In clinical education, a patient assessment form based on Gordon's functional health patterns was applied to help students in the intervention group to develop nursing process, while the control group received traditional methods. The data were gathered using a demographic information questionnaire, skills in nursing process development checklist, and attitudes towards nursing process questionnaire. Results The average scores for students’ attitude and skills in developing nursing process in the intervention group were greater than those of the control group. Conclusion Applying nursing assessment using the patient assessment form based on Gordon's functional health patterns can improve the students' learning in developing nursing process.

Introduction The human-computer interaction is essential in simulated electronic systems associated with teaching-learning activities. Interactive clinical cases reinforce the diagnostic reasoning ability, a stage of the advanced Nursing Process. Purpose To build educational software, based on NANDA International, to improve the accuracy of nursing diagnoses. Method Methodological study in three stages: preparation and validation of case studies; construction; homologation and evaluation. Held between January / 2012 and December / 2013, in a university hospital in southern Brazil. Teachers, nurses, undergraduate students and graduate students in nursing and information technology participated. Approved by the Research Ethics Committee (130035). Results Construction of five case studies and two versions of the software: one simulates the reasoning process for establishing the diagnosis; another, aimed at teachers, makes it possible to edit/create cases. Conclusion The software helps in the teaching-learning process, generating accurate diagnoses, supporting more appropriate interventions.

Plataforma PEnsinar®: a learning tool for teaching the nursing process

Abstract: the study showed how the construction and transition phases of the Plataforma PEnsinar® were developed. It was based on a proposal that inserts the student as an active agent in the nursing process and the professor as a mediator, providing tools that will contribute to a better learning.
