Pleural Fluid Analysis for Diagnostic of Pleural Effusion: a Literature Review

Abstract:A condition known as pleural effusion occurs when fluid builds up in the pleural cavity that exceeds normal limits and can be caused by infectious or non-infectious diseases. Pleural fluid analysis plays an important role in establishing the diagnosis, along with the clinical picture and radiological examination. A literature study was carried out with the aim of describing pleural fluid analysis examinations that can be carried out to help confirm the diagnosis.
