Polarization-Transmission Channels in Monomode High Birefringent Optical Fibers

Abstract

By using a refracted near-field technique adopted for the measurement with polarized light, the birefringence of monomode bow-tie, Panda and elliptical-jacket optical fibers have been analyzed. As a main result we show the possibility of creation of two separated polarization-transmission channels at polarizationmaintaining fibers with high birefringence.
