Polonovski Reaction

Abstract: The transformation of a tertiary amine oxide into a N , N ‐disubstituted acetamide and an aldehyde by treatment of the tertiary amine oxide with acetic anhydride or acetyl chloride is generally known as the Polonovski reaction.
