Abstract: Introduction: Peptic ulcer is an insult to the mucosa of the upper digestive tract. Helicobacter pylori infection, long term use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or steroids, excessive alcohol ingestion and smoking are common etiological factors.
