Porous Media Combustion

Abstract: Combustion within porous media offers several technological advantages compared to free flames. In this chapter, the fundamentals of porous media combustion underlying the complex interaction between gas phase and solid structure are given. Furthermore, different stabilization techniques, emission characteristics, status of modeling and simulation, and the most commonly utilized materials and structures of porous media combustion are introduced.
