Abstract: Background:The early identification of patients with rapid progressive osteoarthritis (RPOA) could allow the implementation of prevention strategies and their inclusion in clinical trials. Polymorphisms in nuclear and mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) have been associated with OA.
