Abstract:The effects of denervation and sensitization alone and in combination on the isometric contractions of guinea pig diaphragmal muscle are studied in vitro. Denervated diaphragmal muscle contracts in response to histamine, the reaction being abolished by the histamine receptor blocker dimedrol.
