Post-exercise proteinuria in the cadets trained on Special Aerial Gymnastics Instruments

Abstract: Objectives: Assessment of the effect of training on Special Aerial Gymnastics Instruments (SAGI) on the urine β-2-microglobulin (β-2M), albumin (ALB), total protein (TP), N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase EC.3.2.1.30 (NAG), expressed as creatinine (Cr) and on the physical fitness of the examined cadets in comparison with the control group. Material and Methods: The study involved 55 cadets aged 20, divided into group A (N = 41) trained on SAGI, and group B (N = 14) -a control group. The urine was collected twice: b… Show more

“…Cortisol belongs to the group of hormones which affect protein metabolism, intensifying disintegration of the contractile fibers of the skeletal muscles. In the previous studies with the use of the same training units, effort proteinuria [10] and decrease in serum proteins were shown [23]. The study by Obmiński et al [24] carried out for 24 cadets trained in Our study is interesting because the exercises were carried out under aerobic condition of various intensities but the same duration.…”

“…These Instruments are as follows: looping, gyroscope, and aero wheel. Their structure and appearance were presented in the previous papers ( Wochyński et al, 2010 ; Wochyński and Sobiech, 2014 , 2015 , 2017 ). The exercises on those instruments partly imitate the real flight mission’s environment.…”

“…It was used to determine the level of visual-motor coordination before and after training on the Special Aviation Gymnastics Instruments (SAGI), including: gyroscope, Rhine wheel and looping ( Kobos et al, 1994 ). The appearance and structure of these instruments is presented in other scientific papers ( Wochyński and Sobiech, 2014 , 2015 , 2017 ). One of the most important elements of pilot training in preparation for flight is to achieve a habituation in psychomotor skills, high acceleration tolerance and spatial orientation ( Wochyński et al, 2010b ).…”
