Precambrian Organic Matter

Abstract: Precambrian organic matter comprises all carbonaceous materials preserved in, and indigenous to, sedimentary rocks deposited during the Proterozoic and Archean Eons. These carbonaceous materials range in mass from small individual organic molecules such as simple hydrocarbons, through macromolecules and microscopic fossils, and extending all the way to massive accumulations of petroleum.
