Precision tests of the Standard Model with leptonic and semileptonic kaon decays

Abstract: We present a global analysis of leptonic and semileptonic kaon decays data, including all recent results by BNL-E865, KLOE, KTeV, ISTRA+, and NA48. Experimental results are critically reviewed and combined, taking into account theoretical (both analytical and numerical) constraints on the semileptonic kaon form factors. This analysis leads to a very accurate determination of V us and allows us to perform several stringent tests of the Standard Model.

“…2, the constraint (44) is represented together with experimental points from [4,8,9,[12][13][14][15], where we have extracted the corresponding curvature from the constrained fit given in [13]. We note that, except the results from NA48 and KLOE, which have curvatures slightly larger than the allowed values, the experimental data satisfy the constraints.…”

“…The former is presently calculated to 1% to 1.5% accuracy using several choices of lattice fermion, the latter to about 0.5%. (For a recent compilation of lattice results, see [Sciascia et al 2008;Artuso et al 2008]). These are in striking distance of corresponding experimental errors, which are presently 0.3% and 0.4%, respectively.…”
