Prediction models and associated factors on the fertility behaviors of the floating population in China

Abstract: The floating population has been growing rapidly in China, and their fertility behaviors do affect urban management and development. Based on the data set of the China Migrants Dynamic Survey in 2016, the logistic regression model and multiple linear regression model were used to explore the related factors of fertility behaviors among the floating populace. The artificial neural network model, the naive Bayes model, and the logistic regression model were used for prediction. The findings showed that age, gend… Show more

“…It was showed that gender, age, political status, highest educational level, whether having chronic disease and depression are common affecting factors for fertility and the number of children. Gender differences were consistent with the results of exploring the reproductive behavior of floating population in China [ 21 ]. The legal age for marriage in mainland China is 22 for men and 20 for women, and after the age of 25, married people gradually begin to have children.…”

“…In a study shows that a woman's age, education level, occupation, and location are signi cant determining factors for the survival of a child during birth delivery [23]. In another study shows that various factors such as age, ethnicity, gender, household registration, occupation, education, duration of residence, housing, migration scope, economic status and health services access are in uenced in fertility behavior [24]. In a study employing Neural Network method to nd the determinant of fertility and his ndings was religion, status of education, wealth index, current age of the respondent and contraceptive methods are the key determinants of fertility [25].…”
