Abstract:Estimating river streamflow is a key task for both flood protection and optimal water resource management. The high degree of uncertainty regarding watershed characteristics, hydrological processes, and climatic factors affecting river flows makes streamflow estimation a challenging problem. These reasons, combined with the increasing prevalence of data on streamflow and precipitation, often lead to data-driven models being preferred over physically-based or conceptual forecasting models. The goal of this stud… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
