Preference for Energy Dense Snack Foods in Healthy and Overweight Minority Preschool Children

Abstract: Snacking is an important eating episode for energy and development of food preferences in children. The purpose of this study was to describe the quality and quantity of snack intake in minority preschool children enrolled in the Head Start Program in four centers in Detroit, Michigan, and investigate differences by child weight status.
