Despite the emergence of new interventions, such as ketamine (Price et al, ; Tizabi, Bhatti, Manaye, Das, & Akinfiresoye, ), repetitive magnetic stimulation (Loo & Mitchell, ), transcranial direct current stimulation (Padberg et al, ; Palm, Hasan, Strube, & Padberg, ), and deep brain stimulation (Kubu et al, ; Mi, ), most of these interventions are only applicable to patients with MDD in alleviating depressive symptoms.
