Abstract:The paper describes a procedure that allows to start up a steam turbine in a significantly shorter period. The procedure is developed for start-ups that begin from a cold state, when the temperature of the parts of the turbine is close to the ambient temperature. The pre-heating rises the parts temperature before the actual start-up begins. It changes the thermal state of the turbine and causes smaller maximal stress during the initial period of the start-up. The procedure involves a pre-heating of the turbine… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
