Preparation, Crystal Structures, Thermal Decomposition and Explosive Properties of Two Novel Energetic Compounds M(IMI)4(N3)2 (M = CuII and NiII, IMI = Imidazole): The New High–Nitrogen Materials (N > 46 %)

Abstract: Two novel multiligand coordination complexes of imidazolecopper(II) azide and imidazole-nickel(II) azide, Cu(IMI) 4 -(N 3 ) 2 and Ni(IMI) 4 (N 3 ) 2 , were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and FTIR spectroscopy. The crystal structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The results show that the crystals of Cu(IMI) 4 (N 3 ) 2 and Ni(IMI) 4 (N 3 ) 2 crystallize in the orthorhombic Pna2 1 and monoclinic P2 1 /n space groups, respectively. The metal cations are six-coordinate, … Show more

“…In previous work [2932], Kissinger method was widely used to determine the activation energies with the reaction process that occur under linear heating rate conditions. Although this method has some limitations, it is acceptable when an isoconversional method was used to back up the veracity of the Kissinger method [33].…”

“…And many other types of kinetic methods [33] were tried to back up the veracity of the Kissinger method, but all of the results are unsatisfactorily. According to the literature [29, 3639], an applicable method namely Ozawa–Doyle method was commonly used to back up the Kissinger method in the kinetic calculation of the energetic materials for its’ acceptable result.…”
