“…The bands in the region 1560–1568 cm −1 and 1270–1275 cm −1 , were observed in Schiff base spectra assigned for azomethine υ(‐C=NH) and thiocarbonyl υ(C=S) stretching vibrations, underwent modest downward shifting (bathochromic shift) by 20–25 cm −1 while comparing with the spectra of complexes and observed in the range of 1535–1556 and 1260–1240 cm −1. This shifting divulges donation of the lone pair of electrons available on azomethine nitrogen to metal centers and confirms binding through nitrogen and sulphur donor atoms . In addition, new broad bands displayed near 3515–3410 cm −1 in all complexes may be attributed for two coordinated water molecules.…”

“…The observed value for the exchange interaction parameter (G = 1.684) for the Cu(II) complex suggests that the significant exchange coupling is present and the misalignment is appreciable. The observed values of α 2 (0.86 and 0.88 for complexes, respectively) of the complexes were less than unity, which indicated the covalent character …”
