Preparation of efficient inverted tin-based perovskite solar cells via the bidentate coordination effect of 8-hydroxyquinoline

Abstract: High-performance and stable tin-based perovskite solar cells have been prepared via the bidentate coordination effect of 8-hydroxyquinoline.

“…A bidentate Lewis base 8‐hydroxyquinoline was introduced in the perovskite precursor FASnI 3 to increase the stability of the intermediate phase in a recent study. [ 73 ] The incorporation of 8‐hydroxyquinoline successfully stabilized the perovskite precursor by forming a complex with SnI 2 using the two donating atoms (nitrogen and oxygen) present in 8‐hydroxyquinoline. The resultant FASnI 3 film showed high crystallinity, with lower cracks inhibiting the oxidation of Sn 2+ to Sn 4+ , and producing a PCE of 7.15 % in the respective PSC.…”
