Preparation, structure and mechanical properties of SiC particle reinforced titanium-aluminum layered composites

Abstract: Ductile Ti in Ti/Al3Ti laminated composites only improves the plasticity of Al3Ti, but does not increase the strength of Al3Ti essentially. The silicon carbide particles have excellent properties such as low density, low expansion, high hardness, high stiffness, high elastic modulus and isotropy, which can be used in layered composite Ti/Al3Ti to further improve its strength.
