Preparation, structure and properties of Mn-doped ZnO rod arrays

Abstract: Mn-doped ZnO rod arrays were successfully prepared on zinc substrate by a simple aqueous solution method. X-Ray diffraction and high resolution transmission electron microscopy results indicate the doped Mn 2+ has successfully incorporated into the ZnO crystal lattice. The optical, magnetic and electrical properties of as-prepared ZnO rod arrays were all changed due to Mn 2+ doping into ZnO rods. Photoluminescence spectra at room temperature suggest that the band gap increases with increasing the Mn concentrat… Show more

“…In this work, for Zn 1− Mn O ( = 0.03, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, and 0.20), the values of absorption were found to be blueshifted at 443, 450, 462, 470, and 481 cm −1 , respectively. Undoubtedly, this can prove that the Zn-O-Zn network was perturbed by the presence of Mn in its environment with the change in the peak position of the ZnO absorption bands [12].…”

“…Due to its inexpensiveness, nontoxic and environmentally safe, it has attracted more attention over last few years. Recently, modified ZnO was prepared by doping with transition metals such as Ag [10], Mn [11], Fe [12], Co [13], Cr [14], Al [15] and Pd [16]. The results of these transition metals doped ZnO show that the optical, magnetic and electrical properties changed with the change in concentration of transition metal.…”

“…87‐0713). Hexagonal structure of ZnO was confirmed by the 102 crystalline peaks46 and average crystal size was calculated using Debye‐Scherer ( D = 0.94λ/β cosθ) formula. The average crystal size of synthesized ZnO nanoparticle is 37 nm.…”
