Pressure drop across an orifice in pulsing gas flows

Abstract: The pressure drop across an orifice as a function of time for pulsing gas flows is described. The operation of the CANMET hydrocracking pilot plant was analyzed either one or two compressors in parallel during the startup of a hydrocracking experiment prior to the injection of liquid. The accuracy of calibration curves, which were measured using steady continuous flows for application in pulsating flows, was assessed.
