Preventive maintenance of multiple components for hydraulic tension systems

Abstract: Automatically controlled hydraulic tension systems adjust the tension force of a conveyor belt under different working conditions. Failures of an automatically controlled hydraulic tension system influence the performance of conveyor belts. At present, the maintenance of automatically controlled hydraulic tension systems mainly considers the replacement of components when failures occur. Considering the maintenance cost and downtime, it is impossible to repair all the failed components to improve the hydraulic… Show more

“…Reliability-oriented maintenance methods have improved tremendously over the past few years [61,62]. Among them, there is a lack of maintenance management research based on [39], [72], [75][76][77][78][79][80] [ 34,35], [72], [81][82][83][84][85][86][87][88] [83], [90][91][92][93][94][95] [ [96][97][98][99][100][101][102][103][104][105] [8], [107][108][109][110][111][112][113][114][115][116][117] Fig. 3 Classification of common maintenance strategies related to resilience Maintenance management in a broad sense refers to a series of activities in order to reduce the probability of failures, reduce the impact of failures, and improve th...…”

“…Similar to this idea, constrainted by the limited budget, an extended joint integrated importance measure was proposed in [92] to determine which components have opportunity for preventive maintenance. [93] Considering the maintenance cost and system structure, group importance measures were designed to find the optimal maintenance strategy in [94]. [95] established a model considering economic and structural dependences to make a maintenance plan based on the mean remaining lifetime and Birnbaum's importance measure.…”

“…Given the extensive application of hydraulic drives in diverse technical domains, ranging from transportation engineering [11] to aviation engineering [13] and industrial sectors [7], there exists a compelling necessity for the continuous monitoring of the technical condition of their constituent elements. Reliability and maintenance analysis of different machines hydraulic drives is mainly oriented to hydraulic elements like pumps, cylinders and accumulators [8,24]. The modern hydraulic drives in mobile machines or industrial systems are characterized by complexity, branching, and typically involve a multitude of distinct hydraulic elements (Fig.…”

“…Cascading failures cause congestion which damages urban transportation networks [24]. Ignoring the cascading failures is not only detrimental to the recovery of transportation networks but also may lead to worse congestion [8]. Timely and effective maintenance plans help to maximize the recovery of transportation networks and ensure smooth travel of residents.…”
