Priming effect stimulates carbon release from thawed permafrost

Abstract: Climate warming leads to widespread permafrost thaw with a fraction of the thawed permafrost carbon (C) being released as carbon dioxide (CO 2 ), thus triggering a positive permafrost C-climate feedback.
