Principles of Stabilizer Selection

Abstract

All previous chapters contribute to understanding the principles of stabilizer selection, especially Chapters 3, 4, and 5. In this chapter we would like to review some essential aspects of stabilizer performance which were not sufficiently stressed in the previous chapters, or they were discussed but not their importance for stabilizer selection. One important criterion − economy − is not included here, considering that every good design should consider the economic aspects of materials application, and that chemists can best influence economical selection by careful consideration of technical aspects important for the application.
