Prions in neurosurgery

Abstract: The review is devoted to new class of infectious agents-prions and their role in human illnesses mainly with CNS damage. Ethiological, patogenical and molecular-genetic features of this kind of pathology are given. The role of intracerebral way of infectious agent reception is shown. These data are important for differential diagnostics of human prion illnesses and for system development of their prophylaxis and safety.
